Dr. Md Bashirul Alam
Dr. Md Bashirul Alam, Deputy Commissioner joined in Barguna District Administration on 28 January 2016. He belongs to 13th BCS (Administration) cadre. He is a man of excellent academic and professional background. He completed his Bachelor and Masters degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1988 and 1990 respectively. Later he obtained Ph.D degree from Rajshahi University in 2012. Dr. Alam has 14 scientific articles in local and international journals. He started his career as an Assistant Commissioner in Kushtia Collectorate in 1994. He also worked as First Class Magistrate at different Collectorates. He enriched his experience in versatile issues from field administration; worked as Upazila Nirbahi Officer in Kalaroa, Satkhira; Atpara, Netrokona and Birampur, Dinajpur. He worked as Deputy Managing Director in WASA, Rajshahi, Chief Estate Officer in Bangladesh Railway, Rajshahi and Deputy Manager in Public Private Partnership Office, Prime Minister’s Office, Dhaka. In his long service tenure, he had been experienced in Local Government Policy, Poverty Alleviation, Development Administration, Co-ordination, GO-NGO collaboration, Gender Equality, Child and woman rights and Climate change from national and international arena. In his professional life, he participated many training program at home and abroad. Remarkably, he completed a foreign training on Capacity Development of Bangladesh Public Servants for Infrastructure Management from Monash University, Australia in 2015. It was his opportunity to visit different countries, like South Korea, Thailand, Philippines, China, Japan, India, Nepal, United States of America, United Kingdom and Australia. Currently, as Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate he is coordinating all development activities and other issues with his sagacity, prudent, innovative ideas, skill and positive mentality.
